Severe thunderstorms should occur late this afternoon into tonight from parts of northwest Texas into much of Oklahoma, southeast Kansas, and southwest Missouri. Large hail will be the main concern, but damaging winds and a couple tornadoes could also occur.
The area that will have the best chance of seeing large hail, some of which could be larger than 2 inches in diameter, and isolated tornadoes is the Enhanced Risk (orange area) in the graphic below. Locations in the Slight Risk (yellow area) will also have a chance for large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
If you live in the Enhanced or Slight Risk areas, stay aware of the weather today, and listen for possible watches/warnings later this afternoon and tonight. For additional information and the latest updates, please visit http://www.spc.noaa.gov/.
